Finally I’ve released the first beta of 3D Box Viewer. You can grab it from downloads section.
It’s in very early stage, so don’t spect much.

I wanted to release the first public beta this weekend. But finally I didn’t have enough time to polish the code. I’ll try to do it in two weeks.
Meanwhile, you can watch the first video of the program running (sorry for the low quality):
This weekend the inspiration came. Actually it was really easy to simplify controls of the program. In the first version I had 14 keys (yes, fourteen
) to fully control the viewing of the boxes.
But eliminating rotation around Z axis (normal to front and back cover), wich doesn´t have too much sense, defining a parent object and using hotkeys I can control the program with only 7 keys: 4 directions, 2 buttons and 1 exit button.
Actually, now I have unused inputs but I’d like to keep the program as simple as I can.
By the way, I’ve tested the program in an old laptop with a cheese graphic card and it works perfectly. “Monkey Island 2″ box, wich has 1000×800px textures over their front and back sides rotates smoothly and you can read the backcover without any problem. So, it seems this software can be useful in almost any “arcade-pc” configuration.
I´ve started to build this mini-site to publish my crappy 3D box viewer. The program is really simple and, maybe, doesn´t need its own site, but I want to publish it´s source code and explain how it works in the most clear way I can.
I´ll try to start uploading files and posting information soon, but currently I don´t have much time.
I´d like to thanks the people from marcianitos, dantoine and no-intro project for his support and opinions wich has made this program possible.
If you´ve found this site by yourself, welcome! …and if you get here because you received a link in your messenger, gtalk, skype… sent be me, sorry for the spam
